Box Restoration / Preservation

Went through my straight collection earlier today to gasoline them up, and realized I would like to make sure I'm doing what i can to preserve their boxes.

Is there any protocol for age-proofing some of my older straight razor boxes?

Has anyone attempted a restore (repair might be a better term) on a box before?

Keep them cool, dry and dark. The cardboard in the boxes is far from archival, and the acids in them will eventually cause them to fade and crumble. Keeping them in an environment that slows the process is about the best you can do.

I've glued boxes that were tatty and falling apart using PH neutral glue. You can buy it from places that sell conservation supplies. It's usually bought by people repairing old books.
