I received my G20 scuttle today and had to do a test lather. Wow! Those little bumps and lines make a huge difference when it comes to lather making. I had overflowing lather many times faster than with my smooth rice bowl.

Really? I may have to try finding myself a bowl with a pattern in the bottom then. I haven't really heard about what differences in bowls can do for a lather, but then again I'm still pretty new.
I have a small bowl I bought cheap from a local pottery studio, and while it is glazed inside, it's more of a matte than enamel texture. Works surprisingly well, and am going to get a slightly larger one made soon.
That's why they put them in there
