Boulevardier

Anyone ever have one of these? Its a cousin to the Negroni. It replaces the gin in a Negroni with bourbon. The one I had in a Chicago steakhouse used Buffalo Trace and was fantastic. If you are curious to try and like Manhattan's, you will like this as it features sweet vermouth. Don't let the Campari scare you, its bitterness is downplayed.

I like 'em, but most of my manhattan-drinking friends don't -- the campari is mellowed by the vermouth, but you really have to like the bitter orange of the campari.

One of my favorite drinks. Has a higher ratio of bourbon than there is gin in a negroni (negroni is 1/1/1 between the 3 boozes), which I think is great :thumbup1:

Love em.

Also like Campari on the rocks with the splashiest splash of soda on a hot afternoon.

One idea for the Boulevardier is to make Campari ice cubes rather than pour it in the drink. So you basically start with a Manhatten, and the drink changes as the ice melts.
