Blackberry Bold vs Apple Iphone

Gents, I have used my reliable Blackberry Curve (8300) for the past 2 years. I am thinking about upgrading to either the Bold or Iphone. My daughter, son and girlfriend all have Iphones. I like the gadget aspect of these phones and all the cool apps.

I like the Bold because of the screen, integrated email, etc. Yes, I am a business class user. I am mobile 50% of the time and am used to my curve.

What would you recommend?

Well, the Blackberry Storm is a good combo of both, tactile screen like Ipod and all the business appliances of Blackberry. I have one and i am quite satisfied.

Regards

The storm looks cool. Unfortunately, I am limited to AT&T.

Javelin or Bold - hands down if you're looking for a piece of business hardware (I still think the BBs are tops for business users).

If you want a toy, then get the Iphone.

I want both.

Like I said, if you really want a machine for e-mail, than its the Blackberry that fits the bill. The Bold has a lot of the toy/cool factor that the Iphone does - but it comes at the expense of battery life and the fact that its a little chunkier than the curve (which I currently own as well).

The Iphone has more fun stuff, but I think the lack of a real keyboard is a problem if you do a lot of e-mail.

I'm about to upgrade, but my company doesn't support the Iphone (which I wouldn't have purchased in any event) - a decision I supported given that its not as good a business tool and the folks who wanted it were primarily influenced by the cool factor.

I agree. I just needed affirmation.

Austin, I have an iphone and I email a lot. The touch screen is not a problem in the least. The only reason that a business person wouldn't want it, IMO is that it doesn't allow you to edit documents from Word, PowerPoint, etc. or have ready access storage.

I have 4 email accounts that I have synced to my iphone, and it is great.

EDIT: Also, I find the touchscreen to be easier for me to type on than the small qwerty keyboard keys... But, of course, YMMV

I have an iPhone and I bought it 99% for business, and not a toy, i.e. email and internet. It's awesome for both. My work supports the iPhone and a ton of people use it for email, syncing contacts and calander. I HATE every single tactile full keyboard on any phone I've ever tried. The iPhone is a joy to use. Love the virtual keyboard. It's easy to get to anything I want to get to. No buried menues. I can get things done twice as fast as anything else. The only thing I wish it had right now was cut and paste, but that's coming soon. If my phone died today I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. If it died tomorrow, I'd buy it again. I've hated every single phone I've ever owned except this one. And no, I'm no Apple fanboy.

The only Apple products that I have are my iPod and iPhone. My iPhone got busted and I bought another one... I didn't even consider getting another phone. I failed to mention it, but I pretty well run my house from my iPhone :thumbup1:

Also, keep in mind if you use Blackberry messenger a lot, you won't be able to with an iPhone. That for me would be my main reason for not switching.

I have an iphone 3G and love it. The 3.0 software update will fix pretty much everything that I had issues with (cut and paste, MMS messaging....FINALLY, landscape keyboard while texting). I have more of an issue with the provider (ATT) then the phone itself.
