Got a tube of bigelow shaving cream at my local BBW and I just wanted to know if it is okay to mix it with VDH when I lather up or should I just use em one at a time?
It makes a great superlather as stated earlier. I've used it many times before.
Its related to relational database You will have to read RDMS to understand this
NO! DON'T!!!
The resulting superlather you get may prevent you from pursuing the purchase of other more expensive "name brand" soaps and creams!

Yes, Proraso and VDH make fantastic superlather. In fact, it is more or less my "go-to" lather.
BUT-- since it wasn't specified, make sure it is the glycerin VDH. Non-Glycerin soaps don't mix well with creams.

I used to think VDH was good because I can get a nice dense, thick lather out of it. But then I never got good shaves out of it, so now I think it sucks. I don't find it slick or protective. Proraso, on the other hand, I get my best shaves with. I've never used them both together, and I'm sure the Proraso would "rescue" the VDH, but I say why mix a great product with a mediocre product? Maybe you'll get a ton of nice thick lather but maybe it won't be as good as Proraso by itself. Everyone always says YMMV so give it a shot, but also try Proraso by itself and then just go with what you prefer!
Good point. It never came to me to try the cream on its own.
Really?

Glad you got a great shave with the Proraso, but don't put away the VDH, try it on it's own too, I like it, it's part of my rotation...
