The one I found was $55 shipped in with zero plating loss, just minor scratches as per usual from vintage razors. So maybe you can find a good one for a great price, if you keep an eye out. I actually managed to make it adjust, but the blade gap is uneven.
From my reading, it looks like the only options are to bend it with a butter knife or send it back. I may change my mind, but I'll likely choose the latter. I would not want to ruin it completely and forfeit my already accepted return.
It's too bad, because it's a very nice razor.
