Best Barber Shave in Mississauga/Brampton?

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted much on these forums, but have visited enough to know that when I need any shaving related information this is the place to come!

I'm hoping some of the posters from the GTA might be able to help me out. My brother is getting married next month and I know how much he would enjoy a good barber shave before the ceremony. Any ideas as to the best place to go for a proper wet shave?

Many thanks in advance for your kind assistance!

Regards,
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,
I'm just up the road from you, and often pop in to see Johnny at the Walper Terrace Barber Shop in Kitchener (Saturday mornings are very lively there). I have had several excellent shaves from him, and always enjoy this time.
I can't tell you the number of times I've seen guys come in on their wedding day with a day or two's growth (sometimes hungover), set on having a straight shave. And almost without exception, they leave looking horrible. For the most part, I suspect they never wet shave, and their electric razors don't get that close. So, when Johnny is done with them, I think that their skin is in shock. Their face is red, and doesn't look good. As smooth as it may be, I can't imagine what the pictures would look like.
I've always had the belief that your face builds up a tolerance to wet shaving (both DE and straight), and if you want to try a straight shave, don't do it on your wedding day (or any day where pictures are taken).
Good luck finding a spot, and wish your brother well from us.

Thanks so much for your reply, Scott. We ended up, on the back of some good advice, staying away from the day-of shave.

I don't live too far from the KW, actually, so one of these days I'll have to come up to try out the gentleman you mentioned--sounds wonderful.
