Baseball and early Gillette

I was watching Ken Burn's 'Baseball', the multi part series this weekend. Lots of game footage. I was noticing alot of Gem and Ever Ready advertisements around the ball parks.

I know that Gillette had gotten the endorsements of a number of ball players which appeared in many print ads . Just wondering how come i didn't see any ads at the ball parks for Gillette prior to the 1960s.

Probably because Gillette spent the money to get the Ball Players (and other sports well knowns) to appear in ads which got a much larger circulation than the ball park banners.

Think "Cavalcade of Sports" a huge Gillette campaign.

It amazes me what the fine people of the board will notice.

I was watching this too and seeing the GEM advertisements must have had an effect on me because I broke down and got a Gem razor on the B/S/T yesterday. :001_smile
