Shave 5 with the Rubie Plus was uneventful which is good. . Its funny that I really don't have much more to say. The bad blades seem to get more chatter .

I am still using the Rubie, because I want to use it again in the Athena and Blackbird and there is absolutely no reason to stop using it, because it just keeps on performing (there was the slightest hint of less performance compared to yesterday).

What is the difference between Gillette Rubie Plus and Gillette Rubie , if any?
You may have already written it and sorry if I forgot, is the Gillette Rubie Plus platinum coated?

From what I have read these are the same ones only different packaging and a different labelling process (etching rather than printing). But I might be totally wrong.

The Plus is Platinum coated yes.

With Roberto’s @Pinto90 mentioning of the Gillette Rubie (without the Plus) I decided to move on to that one. The Rubie Plus gave some additional redness today so I binned the blade.

So moving on the Gillette Rubie which brings me to the following assessment:

In my statistics Rubie Plus is behind Shark Chrome although this table suggests they are equal. The Rubie Plus scores 8.77 in effectiveness and the Shark Chrome 8.80. It does show better consistency judging by the smaller standard deviation of the Rubie Plus.

We must test the Lord Super Chrome too and find out if the Shark Super Chrome can be bested! The Shark came in high in comfort for me too. I was surprised frankly because it doesn't have a great reputation with a significant amount of members here.

I know and I believe that’s why we have Shark Week in part. But frankly this might very well be my forever blade if I compare statistics to what my initial thoughts were about forever blades (KCG and Dorco Titan).

And according to those statistics - but based on only 1 shave so much more data is needed - one stands way at the top at the moment: Rapira.

Fresh blade. I would say on par or the same as the Rubie Plus. Etching rather than printing and only on one side. I would say typical Gillette style etching by the way. Good comfort and sharpness.

Shave 1 with the etched Rubie

It was a nice predictable BBS shave. I had a little more alum feed back today but I had changed razors to my WR2 1.15. Even though this is 0 blade exposure razor it has plenty of blade feel with the OC. I think these are the same blade as the plus. I am already looking forward to tomorrow's shave!
