Back in a BIG Way!

I was looking for something new to try out...I'm not in the Penny pincher group...yet...and at WCS I saw that they were offering the Merkur Vision. Well I had to get me one...RAD a callin'. I recieved the razor today and is it ever BIG...but in a good way. It provided an excellent shave...very easy to hold...I know it doesn't look comfortable but it really is...no problem with being too slippery either.

Couple of things I really like:
1. The adjuster has no clicks or stops...you just dial it till it feels good to your skin.
2. The razor does indeed break down for thorough cleaning if needed...and it's easy IMO.
3.One of favorite features is that the ends of the razor blade are covered! Finally!! As a head shaver I have nicked the back of my ear more times then I care to mention from the stupid ends of the razor blades...NO MORE.

The price is steep...but when RAD calls...heck I love it!

Is the weight a problem for you? I gave up on my Futur because of this and the head was too large for me.

The weight is not an issue at all for me, I honestly thought that it would be. Handles alot better then I expected. For under the nose (which some people have had issues with because of the size of the head) I dial it up until it almost feels like a str8 and I was able to to get every last hair without issue. IMO one heck of a razor for the somewhat experience wet shaver...maybe not the best for the beginer...of course YYMV!!

I've never used the vision, but on my Futur and fatboy, I use a slanted angle and use the corner of the razor head to get up there enough to shave that top line of hair.

Might work with the Vision!

That's great.

I'm glad you found a razor that fits your needs, I can see where the head shaving issue with an exposed blade end could be a hassle. And for you, it probably makes sense to have this multipurpose tool rather than a separate razor for face and head.
But for me, I just can't get over the overall look of it, and the size of that HUGE honkin' head.
But then again, I'm an old guy, and I like the old classic style stuff.
The Future belongs to those with Vision. (pun intended).

A quick WARNING! This morning I heard SWMBO in a loud voice "What in the world is this!". I thought there was a serious problem...really. She went on to interegate me about the razor...she wanted to first know if it was a razor...then when did I get it...how much...etc. This razor doesn't hide well. Buyer BEWARE!

It could easily be mistaken for something other than a razor.
