Axe Shield Balm

So I decided to end a stint as a lurker with this thread. Hopefully it winds up being helpful!

I was in Wally-World yesterday and happened to see that Axe appears to have mixed genes with Schick. Most of what they had was entirely unimpressive, until I saw the new aftershaves: Chilled (cooling) and Shield (sensitive). Since I am always on the lookout for new stuff, I found that one of the bottles of Shield was open and checked it out. Shockingly, there was only a mild subdued scent instead of the notorious nasal assaults Axe is known for. At 6 bucks for a bottle slightly larger than AOS balms, I decided ah, what the hell.

Fast forward to this morning after a rushed, semi-conscious shave with the dregs of an old soap and an old blade. The balm was very soothing without being greasy, and made my face feel very nice. The scent is hard to describe, kind of in a similar vein to the old Proraso balm but sweeter and a little less refined. It didn't even stick around for my short drive to work. As much as I hate to admit it, Axe has made a fine little product here.

Edits: I was wrong about the size. AOS is 3.4 oz and Axe is 3.3
According to the website the scent is "mild vanilla" which is just about right. As for the strength, normally vanilla gives me a combination of nausea and a splitting headache which this does not.

I guess the Cooling type is actually a gel. I didn't check it yet, but the scent is supposed to be "light and minty."
