Arko shave creams.

Thinking of picking up some Arko shave cream, and I wondered what they smell like, how they lather, good ingredients for moisture, etc. I've looked at previous posts concerning this line of creams, but haven't seen a lot of information. Any info those of you who have it or tried it would be appreciated.

I have Arko Adventure, Max Comfort, and Moist. All three lather up very well and provide a nice shave. These creams do not have the very strong fragrance with which the Arko Shave stick is known to have, nor do they provide a similiar shaving experience. The stick provides much more lather, with better cushioning and lubrication - along with a very strong scent. I cannot really comment on the moisture ingredients as I always use a shaving balm (Nivea Shave Balm or Creme) with every shave.

I used Arko Adventure this morning, and I had a nice shave. I made more than enough lather in my scuttle for a four-pass shave plus touch ups, and I still had to wash out lots from both the brush and scuttle when I was done. I do use about a quarter size dollop of shaving cream (I prefer to have too much lather rather than not enough - made that mistake once and decided never again!) The shave was irritation free, and I had no cuts - the cream did everything I needed it to. As I mentioned earlier, my shave routine includes a final application of Nivea Shave Balm or Creme over my dried aftershave. My face never feels dry but my face today does not feel as soft as it does when I have use a shave soap with lanolin (MWF or Haslinger).

I own many soaps and creams, and the Arko creams would not make my top 10. The Arko creams are not bad products, they are simply forgetable. The Arko Shave stick would make my top 10.

Cheers

I use the Arko Regular pretty often because I can find it locally. It's a good cream and does the job well. The scent isnt luxurious but it's not offensive either.

I have also used Arko Regular and find that it forms a lather in seconds. There isn't much of a scent, just soapy and clean. The quality of the lather is very lubricating. Arko products are so cheap, you don't have much to lose in trying them.

Any of you head shavers use certain creams for head shaving and certain ones for face shaving?

since I shave my face 6 nights per week and shave
my head 3 mornings per week....that gives me 9 lather opportunities per week.

I was thinking of making a schedule so I get to use a lot of creams I have purchased.

I have the Cool flavor (menthol). Nothing to write home about. Once I use up my current tube, I won't get anymore.

I have the commando and normal. Shoebox had it on clearance (it might still be) and thought I should try it for $3. It works fine, but I don't like it as well as the stick. The smell is definitely not like the stick.

I have a tube of Adventure. It's a decent cream, especially for the price. I have a local source, so I only paid $1.65 for the tube. The scent is faint, and the lather is slick enough. I don't think I'd get another tube after it runs out.

The ASB is another story. I'm normally not a fan of ASB's, but I like this one. Doesn't make my face feel greasy, and soothes any irritation I might have. Also, the scent is faint enough not to clash with any cologne you might want to follow up with.

Forgive my ignorance. What is "Shoebox"?
