Approaching BBS

While I was shaving I thought I was going to be able to report in that I had acheived my first BBS shave, but after my face is dry I can feel very faint spots when I rub my hands ATG on my neck.

Regarless, this is, by far, the closest I have come. The difference was 2 Italian products I got in the mail today and 2 extra passes.

I was using a fresh feather blade in a Gillette open comb new deluxe razor.

First new product... Proraso pre-shave cream.

Second new product... Cella shaving cream/soap.

I usually do 3 passes... today I took a lot longer and did 5 passes and some touch up. The last pass was actually mostly a touch up pass as well.

My face looks and feels great. I can honestly say my face has not been this smooth since I was about 12 years old. I really attribute the difference today to the two great Italian products I started using. They made an obvious difference.

There's definitely something special in Italian products.

I've found Proraso to be one of the best shave soap/creams I've ever used. Whenever I travel I always take along the white tub of Proraso soap.

I have just recently started achieving BBS on a pretty regular basis. I find that at times after my standard 3-pass shave I rinse, apply AS and realize I have a BBS shave. Other times I still have a faint patch in that one spot--you know the one. However, if I ever try to get a BBS shave by going back and touching up that one spot, I usually end up with a few nicks and irritation. I have stopped "trying" to get a BBS shave. When it happens it's great. When it doesn't I remind myself that no one can tell by looking anyway.
