Scents boring

I own 400+ shaving soaps. My favorite scents by brand are: 1.Moon Soaps, 2. Saponificio Varesino, Henri & Victoria, Zingari Man, Barrister & Mann, Noble Otter, Lakewood, Chiseled Face, Crowne & Crain, Catie's Bubbles, Black Ship Grooming, MacDuff's, Purely Skinful and special shout out to Southern Witchcraft and House Of Mammoth. Last 2 and MacDuff's are my favorite lather. My closest one pass shave are Areffa, Oaken ( horrible scent) and Lothur ( scent ok) Bolzano far and away my favorite blade. Chiseled Face and Fine A. best "all american" type shave soap and splash combo.

That's a lot. Enjoy!

I look sadly at my Arko shave stick that is only a third of the way used despite being a frequent morning companion this year, knowing I have 11 more in reserve. Soap lasts me forever.

So which are the "boring" scents to which you refer in the title?

Boring is always better than offensive.

You need to stop buying, get busy lathering, and start a 3017 program in my opinion. :001_rolle
First: I love Paul Newman! The following brands all give good shaves, But their scents are so-so. Ariana & Evans (15 ) Declaration Grooming (7) Stirling (8) Wholly Kaw (6) Murphy & McNeil (7)

Lol I collect them. Use them at least once. Only three lathers gave the wow factor right out of the box: Southern Witchcraft, MacDuff's and House of Mammoth.

Wow, you are 70 and have 400+ soaps. I hope your kids are wet shavers or that is a lot of soap going to waste.

You listed the scents you like by brand name, can you list which soaps from those brands you liked?

Good points, my thoughts exactly.

Also could not relate how that relates to “boring”, unless of course the OP should consider claiming the bragging rights of owning about 400 scents “exiting”.

My cabinets are filled with a sizable amount of scents, but at above number I would be hard pressed to remember how individual fragrances smell.
I am also quite picky with my scents, or as someone in an entirely unrelated area once stated: “It is quality that matters, not quantity”.

Regarding scents in general; there also seem to be two principal preferences:
- low key, subdued, refined, possibly a bit boring (my preference), or
- into your face, dominating, filling the room, sometimes bordering on the offensive.

Moon Soaps are really good tho. Southern Witchcraft and House of Mammoth, along with MacDuff’s for the best lather, is spot-on for anyone looking to prioritize that rich, creamy consistency. And it’s cool to see Areffa, Oaken (despite the scent), and Lothur giving you those super-close one-pass shaves—that’s the kind of detail that can make all the difference in a daily routine.Bolzano blades being your go-to is a solid choice; they’re known for being sharp yet smooth, which pairs well with the kinds of soaps you favor. And it’s great that you’ve found Chiseled Face and Fine Accoutrements to deliver that classic “all-American” vibe with both soap and splash.

400??? I hope this is just a typo and not soap-mania!😆

Nice list. My favorite brands for scents are Barrister and Mann (Leviathan, Vespers) Southern Witchcrafts (Samhain, Desairology), House of Mammoth (Fu Dao, Indigo)and Noble Otter (BarrBarr, Lonestar).

I’d be curious to hear a favorite or two of yours from each brand.
