AOS Sandalwood- first shave

Worth every penny. This stuff rocks!! Warm, subtle scent, thick fluffy lather, smooooth shave. I will keep this as my Sunday morning shave. A very moist cream, with no need for ASB. Top quality!!

I tried AOS Sandalwood cream for the first time this morning. I am pretty pleased with it at this point. Lathered well. Provided good cushioning. For the price I guess it better be good!

I always get great results from AOS Sandalwood. It is expensive, but it sure lasts a long time. I get lots of lather from a small amount.

Count me as another huge AoS fan, despite the mid-high price range. If you like the cream, and also enjoy soaps, AoS soaps are top-of-the-line. :tongue_sm

I'm happy to see this thread and the positive responses to AOS Sandalwood. :w00t:

There's a place near my apartment that sells AOS products and I've been meaning to stop by and pick up AOS Sandalwood.

This sealed the deal.

i have used the lemon and sandalwood. enjoyed them both. what's funny is everyone thinks they are expensive but its actually the same price as something like trumpers or truefitt & hill.

i wish i could find my post where i did the price comparison.

I have the Sandalwood Soap from AoS, and I love it. I used a trial size unscented cream and it lathered up nice and fluffy. Wish that the trial was scented.

Glad you enjoyed it!
If you haven't had a chance to try the AoS soaps, I would definitely give them a shot.

I'll have to look around for a trial size scented AoS cream.

Thanks for posting your thoughts!

I have the cream, soap, and ASB. All top notch. The lavender smells great too.

I also have the Sandalwood cologne. It smells just like the cream. Lasts all day, but is super-strong, so a little goes a really long way.

Good to hear!

I bought a tube of AoS Sandalwood cream on a 60%-off close-out from makeup.com last week on a whim.

It came today and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

This is one of my favorite creams. Although I just started getting to the bottom of the jar and was a little disappointed to find it was rounded and didn't extend to the full corners of the jar.

I decided to resurrect this thread since I just had my first shave with this cream.

WOW!:jump:

This stuff knocks TOBS St. James out of first place in my rotation.
This is my new cream!
And, most likely, this is going to be the only cream I will ever use.

I'm glad I bought the big tub.
AOS is expensive, but it's worth it when it gives a shave this good.

+1 about the Sandalwood cream. I got free samples of their unscented Pre-Shave Oil, Cream, and ASB from a store along with a $25 coupon for their full size kit (included what the clerk called 6 months supply of all of the above along with a Pure Badger brush) which is normally $100 and I was hooked. I've been considering looking at some of the other creams to save a few bucks when I have to deal with refills, but it almost seems like I might be disappointed :)

I've got a question about lathering with this cream: should it be mixed with a little water while lathering (e.g. in a mug) or should the brush be wet (wrung out) and the mug damp and just work it up that way?

I usually soak my brush then squeeze most of the water out. I then dip the tips into the cream to get a little and after, begin working the lather up in my scuttle adding water a little at a time until I get the lather built.

I prefer the lavender by a small margin but agree the AOS creams are really good. Of anything I've tried they are the easiest to lather and feel so luxurious on my face.

This was my first high end cream and I think its top notch. The cost per shave is negligable (I've had the same tub over 8 months of daily shaving. The best lathering technique IMO is a moderately wet brush and dipping the tip into the jar, only a little cream is necessary.

AoS Sandalwood has a fantastic scent. I prefer the scent of the AoS Lavendar and lemon pulls up the rear.

Out of the three sandalwoods I have, AoS is my favourite. :thumbup1:
