AoS lemon superlather question

Just picked up a puck of Aos Lemon. Haven't even used it yet, but I know that I like superlather. I have been doing VDH and Poraso for a while. I was wondering what cream you would recommend with the lemon. Also, how long will the soap last, paid through the nose for it, sure hope its all its been made out to be.

I would use it as is, its one of my favorites along with the other AOS scented soaps.

But if you feel you must mix it, do it right and mix it with AOS Lemon cream. ( but no mixing is necessary imo)

How long should i load a brush? Maybe the VDH is not as good as an AOS but i load for maybe 30 seconds and feel like it might be lacking in product. Is it ok to get that wooden bowl wet?

Thats pretty good, idk if its better than canned goop, but at least i look forward to it

It's waaaaaay better than goo. I would try it without super lathering first. Try loading for 30 seconds and see how it goes, depending on your brush and your water. AoS is one of the easiest soaps to lather, and one of the best available.

AOS unscented?

From what I've heard, this soap doesn't need any assistance, though. This is on the short list, if it is still around when I finish everything else in 2020 or so.

Just used it, didnt get as close as i would have hoped. Still new so inconsistent shaves will happen. Do you ever have to re-load the brush? it lathered so quick on the puck maybe I stopped early.

You may have stopped to soon, I load, smear/face lather, dip the tips and load some more, then face lather and paint strokes.

First off, superlather is what you do to improve or salvage less-than-perfect products. Superlathering with AoS is like taking a $100 bottle of scotch and pouring ginger ale all over it! Sacrilege!

Anyways, typical usage of a hard soap is around 6 months of heavy use, maybe as high as 9 if you're lucky. The per-shave cost is about the the same as cheaper but softer soaps.

Do you think they would let me return it to nordstrom. I dont really like what its doing for me, at least it smells good. Maybe I will get the cream. Does anyone like the cream better?

I can't say for Nordstrom. They tend to have great customer service so who knows, but I would think not.

If you really do want to offload it, you could sell it on the B/S/T forum (once you reach 50 posts) here and somebody would take it off your hands. You probably wouldn't end up losing too much in the end.

I would stick with it though. It seems like you're new to wetshaving. AOS is one of the most widely praised soaps on these boards.

More product is a constant recommendation for problems with soap. Try swirling your brush on the soap 100-150 times. It will last a long long time.

This, AOS is great stuff. Keep using it, if you find that after using it for a while, that you can't get good results, it will move quickly on the BST

I did give it back to nordstrom, Got 20 back and also a tub of cream. Have to say it works a lot better. Got the second most close shave that i can remember. Maybe I'm a cream guy, maybe I dont load enough off the soap. Regardless I'm good for a while on products, or at least I think I am
