Any way to get rid of oxidation?

I managed to get myself a 1962 Gillette Slim Handle Adjustable, and it is in very good condition, but has some oxidation on the handle. I am wondering what the best way to get rid of this is, or how to prevent it from getting worse?

Can I have it re-coated some how?

Hot water, Dawn dish washing liquid, a toothbrush and elbow grease.

Then polish lightly with Maas.
