Any way to experience a good English Fern scent cheaply?

I'm in love with Penhaligon's English Fern by description alone. That stuff's expensive though!

Is there any way to experience something very similar for much less money? Perhaps from one of our very own craft soap makers? I'm up for anything - cream, soap, aftershave, etc.

I may get jumped on by people here with a better nose than myself, but I find Booster moss wood is a nice compliment to my EF shaving soap. It is not the same scent, but it has enough similarities that I enjoy it. It is around $9 for gigantic bottle. It is really just alcohol and fragrance, so it's not as soothing as some other AS splashes.
