Any Ideas?

I came across this stone and not sure what it is. The actual color is sort of a gold to tan with darker specs throughout. It seems to show a green in the picture but not really a true color. Any Ideas I have no idea as to the grit etc. It's about 1 7/8 x 7 3/4. It was setting with some razors.

Reminds me of a Tam O Shanter or a Water of Ayr

But - that's just a guess.

Looks more like an Arkansas stone to me, but I have never seen a Tam...

Nothing like a Tam or Water... I'd say Arkansas as well, most likely a Lilly white Washita as seen here:

It could be any number of things, incl. a Washita as shown or some vintage slate from Europe.
But it does in fact remind me very much of a Tam I've owned in the past. Esp the second photo.
Admittedly, that photo isn't really in focus
To be honest, I was never certain if it was a TOS or a WOA. Hard to tell the difference between the two sometimes without a label.

It has a distinctive yellow/brownish hue to it. Arkansas for sure.

But - it still looks like my old oil-soaked TOS.

I believe that it's common knowledge that Natural stones vary in many degreess - including visual appearance.
More importantly - its not a photo of the one I owned. It's not stained, pattern is way more dense, and the end doesn't appear to be broken off.

Anyhoo - as I said above; as a guess - the OPs stone reminds me of a TOS.
Right or wrong - that's what it reminds me of.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. As to the am I new? Pretty much. Haven't posted much yet but have been sucking knowledge from everyone. The stone has had oil so thought it might be Arkansas Stone.

It is an Arkie. It is definitely not a ToS and most definitely not a WoA - the last two are not even remotely alike.
