Any ideas how to correct this beat-up Pocket Edition?

I just received this 1909 pocket edition and the corners of the head are bent in, making a gap with the guard. Do you think it's worth it to sand them down or something? ...Or just call it an unusual piece?

Also, there are two serials on the guard. Is this a case where the razor was sent back to the factory due to a flaw most likely? The 1909: A855011 and L30847

Thanks!

Yes, a second serial number with an "L" prefix indicates a factory returned razor that had some flaw. As for the bent cap, that may be able to be bent back more easily than would a bent tooth. I am wondering if the owner didn't do it on purpose to create a greater gap.

It's obviously a lost cause.
That must be a painful fact to face.
Send it to me, and I will dispose of it properly for you.:lol::lol:

you could probably pick up a completely dead old with a good top cap and sub it out

Good thinking, I happen to have an old type I can do that with...too bad, because they have bullet shaped guide pins, but can't be too fussy. Now I can clean it up and try it out. I feel classy using pocket editions because of the ornate handles...very good feel.

And Phil...If you're actually interested at all let me know...I don't think I'll end up using this one more than the ABC razor I've been using...and this one doesn't make a very great collector piece...the clasp on the case is broken...even though the silver plating is quite thick

Thanks for the input guys.
