Antique shaving stands

Some kinda cool old shaving stands. Note the flame-heated scuttle with the rosewood stand.

Anyone have/use anything like this?


I think my favorites are the "Edwardian" and "Scottish" stands. Nice and simple.

Wow, very nice! But some of these prices...
I like burl wood in a cherry tint. I would drool all over that!
Charming stands. Though I think I would call them more then just "a stand". Not sure what to call them though.

These remind me of a Sherlock Holmes story when he guesses what side the window is on in Watson's bathroom, and it's based on the quality of his shave. I wonder if Watson had one of these numbers in the bathroom...

If I won the lottery I would probably get one of these items, it would go nicely into the shaving annex I would have built extended from my bathroom. Very cool items though!

Something like this would be good if you shared a house and had to share the bathroom with others and could not get in when you needed to shave. Shaving in your room would be easy with a shave stand. This is what they were designed for as they predate plumbing.

You would be the coolest kid on campus with one of these in your dorm room, that's for sure.

Would not work for me as I have 5 bathrooms and there are only 2 of us living in the house so I have my choice of private shave dens.
