Today I smelt the inside and edges of the cap on my bottle of Clubman Bay Rum (just recently obtained), and I got a VERY distinct, earthy, skunky marijuana smell. In fact I'm smelling it right now, and I know that my nose wasn't playing tricks on me as I can totally smell it every time! Go and take a sniff of your Clubman Bay Rum bottle! Does anyone else pick up on this note?

I've noticed this on my regular Clubman. I think it's the aftershave interacting with the cheap plastic in the bottle and cap, which is the main reason so many guys here decant their Clubman aftershaves into glass.
I found this with my regular Clubman but it does not seem to present that way on my person. I think it is the chemical reaction to the plastic like TonyJoe said.

I'm glad to hear my sniffer isn't broken and I'm not the only one! Strange that I tried to do a couple searches for similar threads but came up with nothing. I'm surprised there hasn't been at least a few threads on this.
I've seen a few posts from people who feel Lucky Tiger Aspen smells like marijuana, but I don't see it at all. One day I was in a thrift store and they had an old bottle of English Leather Ginseng cologne and it smelled like someone had dropped a lit joint into it! I bought it anyway but still have yet to wear it.
All this aftershave talk is making me hungry,

Funny, when I first got lucky tiger aspen, I could almost very faintly detect hints of weed sometimes, but only really when you smelt it right from the bottle. Just a very slight skunk. Compared to Pinaud VIBR, I can't even imagine it anymore lol. Its just so much more distinct and in your face with VIBR, IMHO of course. And, really only from smelling the cap as well.
What does marijuana smell like?

When both my Clubman and VIBR gets warmish, the top notes are lightly skunky (pot smell mentioned above). Scent goes away quick after application. I've seen this topic brought up here before. Seems transferring the stuff to a glass container removes the occasional odor.
