Aluminum #66

I was not even aware of the existence of these until what I thought to be the typical 74g version arrived on my doorstep. Imagine my surprise when I pulled this 37g "soap bubble" out of the case! For a brief moment, I thought that I had been duped with an amazing chrome-plated plastic replica, but I have since verified its authenticity. Aside from the stains on the lid liner, this set is in stunning condition.

Darn! Now I still have to go out and get me a 74g #66!

WOW! I never knew they existed! We already know about the Rocket HD, and the number 58 which have the aluminum counterpart. Makes you wonder if they had a number 16 or 22 made like that too

dammit.

I thought I was through... but you're right! I need an aluminum #58... and now, the elusive and previously considered mythical aluminum #$$... I mean, #66.

dammit dammit dammit.

Yea.. the positive side of owning an aluminum #58 or #66 is that they're quite scarce. Consider yourself quite fortunate and congrats!!

I´m speechless! :w00t: Is it Patent Pending or British Patent inside the head? Now I need a Aluminum #66 and Aluminum #58. Collecting is a never ending story.

I am sure I recognise that one from the staining in the inner lid, if this was the one that was on UK e-bay congratulations on winning it. I didn't realise it was an Aluminium one and like you didn't know of it's existance.

You used it yet?

Patent Pending.

You are correct that this was listed not too long ago on eBay UK, and I wonder how that auction would have gone had the seller mentioned it was aluminum?

I have used it a couple of times and it is quite wonderful!

As soon as I read your first post I thought the exact same thing. I do not own an aristocrat so if I bought it I probably would not have known either. Glad it went to someone who recognised it as something a little bit different.

I expect the seller was the same, either way it went for a decent price for the seller and I am sure he was delighted, I am glad it has a good home and not rotting in someones cupboard.

Please leave it to me in your will.....
