What's new

All hail Tony Miller - picture!

Whoa! I tore the box open as the mailman handed it to me. What great work Tony does. This one is English bridle leather with cotton, unreal. And how it performs! All screw slots aligned perfectly and the draw is perfect. Worth every penny - a work of art!:a14:

Nice! Is that a special order or something he stocks regularly? I would spring for the linen component later on as I feel it really adds something to the edge .

Thanks Guys. The only strop I have is a vintage one from an antique store. It had a stamp on it that says, "Genuine Belfast Linen." It needed cleaning and the stamp came off with the cleaning though. But I hadn't ever tried a cotton one so here was my chance. Is there a real difference or is it personal preference? I thought it might just be that linen costs more, not that it does a better job...

The neighbors reported that the Captain actually grabbed the package, hip checked the mailman into the bushes, and ripped open the package like a 5 year old jacked up on Sugar Bomb cereal on Christmas morning.

Tony makes nice stuff, and he is a class act himself!

I want one! How's the draw compared to your other strop?

Different, very different. I don't know the terminology but the blade has more friction on the TM strop so the draw is slower (?). My other strop the draw is faster and it is well oiled too. I guess it is all about the leather. I wonder how bridle leather is different.

To another question, I ordered it. Try not to smile but I had been watching his site for months thinking if I time it right I can get what I want the next time he is making them. My timing was no good. So I jotted him a note and he made one up for me - great service.

You guys are lucky he is making these part time now. I went through the throes of strop AD when he was still full time

I love my TMs.
