A TRIO of John Barber Blades for December

Antique Hoosier

“Aircooled”
Excuse me for bragging but I just won another John Barber razor, this time on eBay. This one will need a little restoration perhaps... In a group of 3 and it went fairly unnoticed as it hid amongst so many auctions with better descriptions and proper spelling. That makes 3 Barber blades in December alone! This group was $19 and change! Barber is the bottom one.

The other two pictured are a Rodgers and a German Clausberg.

Very nice score! I would love to see closer pictures of those 3 and of course before/after resto!

Updated with a few pictures of the John Barber... Wooden homemade scales with wooden thick wedge replaced what was the original scales God only knows...
This one is hand-forged and has the John Barber Masonic symbols of Square and Compass. Also has the "Spanish Point" much like the "Saint Michael" John Barber I also purchased this month. Surface rust present but this one will get a clean up to remove active rust and nothing else for now. :thumbup1:

After a quick trip to Home Depot for some sandpaper to knock the rust off this Old Barber, the homemade wooden scales fell apart in my hands as I cleaned it up.... I did get all the active rust off and now have to decide on replacement scales...

Pictured next to it's "Twin", I believe a John Barber "Gentleman's Set" is in order now that both need proper period scales. Leaving the patina on the blades however...just knocking off the rust...:thumbup1:
