What's new

A thread of their own . . . twin Dovo "98s"

Okay, I posted them at the tail end of the "Picasso" thread, but thought they may need a thread of their own since that thread was a bit old.

These are rough photos taken without any clean-up, etc. I literally brought them in and snapped some photos tonight. Let me know what you think. They ended up being a bit pricier but still well worth it in my eyes. Wife did not agree, BTW, so we'll see how long I get to hold 'em. :biggrin1:

oooooh, those are suweeet.

Thanks! Note the mini Williams vintage shave stick next to them. Picked that up for $3.00 and it is full! Added an Aristo (1948-49) and a Tech in case to round out the haul today.

This pair is the gem, though, and has been on the radar for awhile!:thumbup1:

Jaw dropping, is the etching on the blades original if so I don't feel so bad for dribbling over my keyboard.

Everything is original to my eye. I can tell for sure all the etching and gold is original. I believe the pair to be unused, as I don't see any signs of honing on the pair. These are going to hurt when the SWMBO finally growls loudly over this particular purchase and I end up passing them along. Coolest looking set I've ever had my hands on.

I dunno....they look great and all, but your picture had so much more potential. Congrats on the sweet blades.

Now that the real thing has been revealed, I think it just improves on the quality of my original artist's rendering. It'd be like finally discovering who the Mona Lisa model was and saying, "wow, he really nailed it. Lisa does look just like that painting. We always made fun of her for her lazy eye . . ."
