A few Newbie ?'s

A few questions for those "in the know."

What does the black tip on a black-tip super speed signify, if anything?

Was the TV only produced in 1958? And, is this just a super speed with a differently knurled handle?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.

No, I think that the black tip was just a try to cut costs. The black tip is a 1940's style Superspeed that was produced in the beginning of the 1950s before they introduced the new, flare tip 1950s Style. Not to be confused with the later red and blue tip which were meant to have different shaving characterisitics, the black tip was just for decoration.
Well, there were two TV editions, one in 1954 (I think) which is a 1940`s Style SS with just a different case, and the other 1958-SS which is a 1950`s Style SS with a different knurling on the handle.
