Notice I didn't say dating.
I've become fascinated by the 40's style Super Speeds.
I just picked up a 1948 in box with ivory Speed Pay. It must be a 48 according to the most recent data.
I was comparing it to my other SS which I believe is a 1950. They are identical except the 48 has the milled center post and the 1950 is more rounded (at the center bar base). Other than that they are identical. I know that these razors are rather nuanced in the few years they were made but I thought there would be a few differences.
Both razors:
1. NDC
2. Notched
3. Package on base plate
4. Creased base plate by lather slots.
5. wording on bottom of baseplate is the same
Am I missing something?
Has anyone put together a flow chart to help date these?
Date code (Y/N)?
Slotted(Y/N)?
ETC
