A cream that surprised you?

Have you ever experienced that you bought a cream that was dirt cheap and had really low expectation of its performance? I got my Omega cream in the mail a couple of days ago and the first time I smelled it in the tube I didn’t really care for the smell. But after I made lather and put it on my face I was totally blown back by how much I liked it, the smell, the cooling sensation (that can be a bit too cold when it’s -20 C outside) and just the feeling of how fresh my skin felt after the shave. So now I have ordered a tube of Proraso and can’t wait to try it out.

Figure that, shaving is in fact pretty fun!!

Yes Its a great cream. I use C.O Bigelow it surprised me. Momma Bear Soaps her soaps made me fall in love with soaps.

The LEA Menthol surprised me because it had a really strong dose of menthol (and good performance).

The Real Shaving Company Cream surprised me because its performance really is the best, even if the scent is minimal or even subpar.....

Although not that cheap, Vintage Blades Lavender. It was the second cream I bought after Proraso. With all the other creams I’ve acquired the past six months, it got pushed to the back and almost forgotten about until last week. Now that I’ve got other creams to compare it to, I was surprised how good this cream is. It's lightly scented, but I love the way my face feels after using it.

Ingrams... Tried the menthol for the first time a while ago and the cream blew me away... Fantastic shave!

Arko. Surprising, I know. But it was slick and I like the smell. I prefer it over some much more expensive brands. Easy to lather too!

Absolutely - GODREJ!

I picked up a tube of the Godrej Rich Foam in an Indian grocery a while back for - get this - $1.99! I'd read the reviews on here and knew it got a fair amount of praise, but judging by it's super low price, I was skeptical. Boy, was I wrong! Performance-wise, Godrej ranks with the very best; easily as good or better than 99% of the higher priced creams I've used.

It does contain lanolin, which is a problem for some, otherwise, I can't recommend it highly enough!

+1 to Kiss my Face , It still to this day is in my rotation, or i will put a tiny squirt in the end of my lather and it makes its super moist. :)

Same here.

I get it for $3 a tube.

Yes!!!:biggrin1:

Kiss My Face and Real Shaving Company creams both impressed the heck out of me. They were among the first creams I tried since returning to wet shaving, and I've since had the chance to try some of the more exotic and highly-ranked ($$$) creams, but they still are top performers for me. The only thing against them is the scent...they don't smell bad, but they're not comparable to the luxury creams.

Rilanja said Boo to me :w00t:, which surprised me and considering this is a €1.00 cream is really good value for money and has a nice scent too.

Godrej is one of only two creams that I just did not like, as they say YMMV  .
