7am... hmm, diamond in the rough?

I'm wondering if I'm the only one out there who gets a fantastic shave out of a cheap 7am. You know, the bengal knockoff of a gillete 7'oclock  I know most people hate them, but I had a couple shaves with one, and it was the closest, smoothest shave I've had in a long, long time.

Great that they work for you. The 7am's have rendered me some of my worst shaves ever. I have only tested them in a Futur so which razor did you use?

I wasn't impressed with the 7am blades either. For me, not a particularly good blade and there are many blades that are better for the money, IMO.

I have a package of them but have never tried them.

This thread may lead me to give it a go.

God have mercy on your soul :p Most people complain of profuse blood loss after using a 7am. I must just be a one-off. No nicks, cuts, and an irritation free BBS. Granted, the 7am blades rust out after 3 shaves... But I think I've found a new holy grail setup for myself. My beautifully polished gem micromatic with a personna GEM blade. Hell that was a good shave.

All I can say is they worked for me. Sharper than I expected, no tugs, a bloodless shave. I cannot say I have used a bunch of these; I don't know if I'd commit to a bulk buy, but to work my way through one full tuck doesn't daunt me.

I don't know about a diamond in the rough, I just found it to be generally rough compared to other brands. Not the worse razor blade I've use but one I wouldn't recommend given that there are other better blades for the same price.

Never lost blood on the 7AM's but didn't loose much hair either. The Sharps from the same factory suits me better but are still not to write home about. Great if they work for you though!
