365 shaves in 2021.

Well, I got thrown out of the 365 shaves regime a long time ago.
Got some irritation and stopped shaving in the Summer, started again and now I'm shaving every 2 to 3 days.

This is my first year in the wet shaving and I was bound to get into some trouble in keeping up with the daily shaves, and I don't feel bad about it.

You all inspire me and I'll be trying to firm a comfortable routine for my shaves.

Thursday 8th July, shave #189.

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: MWF
Brush: Men-U boar
GC.84 SB, Astra SP #2
Post-shave: Nivea Balm.

Took my time, and got an excellent result. Tidying up the missed bits, I managed to talk myself out of inflicting "too much of a good thing".

All of this kit works very well, so there's nothing new that I'm desperate to try.

I'm pleasantly surprised that I got past the half-way mark (currently 51.8% complete).

I was getting a lot of skin irritation in 2018 (random skin condition plus disposables and bad technique), which indirectly led me here.

Hope you find a comfortable routine, as that's more important than how often it is.

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: MWF
Brush: Men-U boar
Razor: Rockwell 6S R5, Personna #4
Post-shave: Nivea Balm.

Another fine autopilot shave with the Rockwell, including neck.

SE SOTD, Fri, July 9th 2021, #190 of 190 consecutive daily shaves.

Razor: Gem Clog Pruf(Peerless model 17nib SB) Mfg 1945, excellent mid range, smooth & comfortable, excellent design & built to last.
Blade: Kai Protouch modified (2) Excellent blade, sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity, a little pricey compared to Gem SS PTFE blade. Gem coated tends to have better longevity from my experience but the Protouch is a smoother shave for the first couple of shaves IMO. Gem coated blades will shave closer because of its proven sharpness, Kai Protouch reaches a nice shave regardless.
Soap: Cyril R Salter Indian Sandal wood, nice sandal wood scent with great lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Aquarius 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, good scrub + great lather painter. Seems like Yaqi tried to imitate a 2 band badger feel IMO. Great brush with a lot of effort to jam the handle with sea setting articles.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Ogallala Bayrum with Sandalwood + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Gem Clog Pruf with a Kai Protouch modified.

Comparison of DE Razors in My Den From ~$75 to ~$125 (USD)

This describes me with the exception that I can get a bbs on my face with just about any razor. But my jaw line down through my neck has a few spots that swirl and lay flat. So that is quite a challenge to get a bbs. It takes a lot of work to get my neck smooth in spots. It happens, but...

Decided to use nothing but hyaluronic acid post-shave for a few days, and see how that compares with balm-only.
