365 shaves in 2021.

Friday 16th July, shave #197.

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: MWF
Brush: Men-U boar
GC.68 OC, Astra SP #1
Post-shave: Hyaluronic acid.

Good DFS with a fresh Astra.

Day 5 of using only hyaluronic acid. The result lacks something that the slightly greasy Nivea balm brings to the post-shave.

Saturday 17th July, shave #198.

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: MWF
Brush: Men-U boar
GC.68 OC, Astra SP #2
Post-shave: Hyaluronic acid and Nivea Balm.

That went better than yesterday, and I got a BBS face, and neck shave that stayed on the right side of comfortable vs close.

Mixed hyaluronic acid and Nivea Balm with a dash of water, and got the best of both worlds.

Tamped down the remains of damp MWF stuck to the sides of the pottery dish. It will still see out July.

Sunday 18th July, shave #199.

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: Gillette Gel
Brush: Men-U boar
GC.68 OC, Astra SP #3
Post-shave: Hyaluronic acid and Nivea Balm.

If you use Gillette Gel according to the instructions, it's a) too thick, and b) more trouble to apply with your fingers than using a real soap and brush.

If you treat it as a tinned shaving cream, it bowl-lathers easily, provides reasonable slickness, and (for me at least) doesn't cause irritation. This stuff can be 3017ed.

Got a similar result to Saturday, BBS face and non-irritated neck.

Seeing the end of a MWF puck is an accomplishment!!
Yes, I was pleased to get onto the home straight. It's been going since the beginning of February.

I hope my refill pucks are as good as the one that came with the soap dish.

Razor: GEM Micromatic Clog Pruf (Peerless model)- Mfg 1945, excellent mid range, I usually get great shaves with this gentler than my MMOC razor but that is how they were designed, 3 different Micromatics for fellows with different beard & skin types.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(2) excellent blade, Very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock Lavender, nice masculine scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi High 24mm Mountain Silver tip, Wow excellent lather generator, soft pillow like tips, nice scrubber+ great lather painter.
Pre shave: brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = :a17:excellent shave with my Gem MMCP + a coated Gem blade.

Monday 19th July, shave #200.

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: MWF
Brush: Men-U boar
GC.68 OC, Astra SP #4
Post-shave: Hyaluronic acid and Nivea Balm.

Got an excellent lather with the tamped-down MWF. BBS face. Then broke my own rules for neck-shaving, and got a very close result at the expense of comfort. You know you've pushed your luck when Nivea Balm stings.
