From what I've seen, they have a great following here. They are rock solid quality and run the same price wise as the other high-end stainless razors (Feather, Ikon, Pils, etc.).
I say go for it. I recently bought my first non vintage razor(Futur) and kind of wished I had bought something with a simpler design. The head is rather large and hard to maneuver around certain areas. My next purchase will be something like the one you're looking At. If you get let us know how it shaves.
I've been drooling over this and the Titan since they came out. Finally bought one of these and it should be here in the next couple days. I can't wait to give it a shot.
I have both the OC and the SB, plus an extra handle with a Travel Tech head on it (for the moment).
The OC I have is a 1st Gen one, and I think they changed the head geometry slightly to make it less aggressive (although I don't find it overly aggressive). The SB is going to be a Christmas present, so I haven't tried it yet.
The craftsmanship is awesome, and they feel great in your hand. They are even fun to just look at.
I like the handle. I believe you can buy just the handle by itself as well. I've also been thinking about ordering a UFO Kaiser short handle too since I really like the looks of that one better. I don't think that those huge UFO handles are for me..... but tastes change.... you never know. The price on that Tradere is up there.... but I've never really considered buying any of the modern stainless razors before since vintage Gillettes are so cheap in comparison. Might be a good move.
I used that razor this morning! It's a fine piece of craftsmanship that will last forever. It has about the right (medium) level of aggressiveness for me. Since it is open comb, even a little pressure, especially on curves such as the chin, should be avoided.
Isn't there a traditional gift-giving holiday coming up, where we drop hints to our friends and family?
I recently got the Tradere SB, and it has quickly forced the others out of rotation because it give me a closer, more efficient shave while still being smooth. (The others are a Mühle R89, Fatboy, Feather AS-D1.)
It's pricey, but the build quality is excellent. It's sturdy enough to last generations. It's better to buy an expensive tool once than many cheaper ones. Now, those who buy many expensive tools ... and the cheaper ones too ... well, that's why B&B is partly a support group.
