Really?? You’re right there!!
No, but I have visited many many times.

I used to go out there mountain biking, to watch the world cup MTB races, rock climb, my brother got married in the mountains, we had to hike to the destination, we spent a few spring breaks in Canmore with the kids 4-5y ago. My brother/wife/kids live in Calgary, so when we visit, we hit up Canmore and the area. I was just out there in January and did a hike in Kananaskis, then strolled around Canmore shopping,.had a Donair at a local hole in the wall strip mall place and picked up hidden gem pastries at a Gas Station Bakery of all places. It's nice to have a local tour guide (brother) who knows all the spots to go.

My wife and I spent our Honeymoon in Waterton Park, also a nice destination and very low key 23y ago. I'm not sure how touristy it is now.

Having been to Banff as well, I'll choose Canmore as my destination. Not as busy and hectic, cheaper and I prefer the town. Both are nice and you can't go wrong with either.

I got it. I thought you lived there. I’d like to do some hiking and fishing. I’ll have to research what the requirements are for a US citizen to to fish is. 20 years ago I would have been interested in some MTB trails but, not now. My wife & I love the outdoors and, anything is what we are interested in. I don’t mind lodging outside of Banff.

Yeah, make sure you are crystal clear on USA fishing in Canada, especially in a National Park.

One of these guys (Fowler) was the winner of Alone and on a slingshot (shooting) forum I belong to.

Well, I think I am out. Most definitely out.

Hi,

Um. Yeah.

Strangely enough, there are a couple sock threads in the Haberdasherry! That's where I got the idea for DT socks.

Keep in mind, they have various thicknesses (listed) and various cushion or no cusion. I don't know what works best for each activity yet or how they alter the fit in shoes with cushion vs no cushion.

This is all new to me.

I got a delivery of Darn Tough socks in yesterday. I ordered 3 pairs of Mid weight with Cushion Hiking socks (Merino Wool). I wore a pair today with my favorite hiking boots to see how fit is with the cushioned socks. I went for an 11 mile hike in hilly terrain. Mostly mud but some patches of snow. The socks are fantastic. I cant speak to wear and longevity yet, but fit, comfort, and moisture wicking is outstanding.

I will be ordering more boot length hiking socks as well as some shorter socks for summer use. Great tip @brucered !

@snowman that's good to hear.

As far as I know, any wear through, rips and even torn, are covered but their lifetime warranty. I've heard people will save up socks and send a few pairs back to save on shipping if they don't have an authorized "exchange store" in their area. All my local stores are resellers and not authorized for over the counter warranty.

Heck, I contacted them as I was unsure about size and they told me they would exchange them at any point in the future if I wasn't happy with the sizing.

I read about one guy who contacted them to see if they would sell him a single sock as his dog ate one and they told him to send the single back and they would warranty them and give him new ones. He didn't take them up on it, as it wasn't the socks fault, but that's impressive in this day and age.

Is it swell time?
Well, I think I am out. Most definitely out.

Why would making a picture of your aftershave put you out? :001_smile But we understand that sometimes purchases are made in a splash of a second. As mentioned by @JKaboom feel free to stick around for a 365/366 effort.

And when a brother breaks his paperclip while fixing things up we need to recheck and update our status ourselves.

Tonight's shave shown below. The lather was from Stone Cottage Soapworks Bay Lime cream. Really nice.

I'm considering getting into shavette/straight shaving next year after the sabbatical is over.
I've been tempted by the Feather Custom for years since I saw one at a barber supply store when I first started wet shaving. They're surprisingly available over here for how little other stuff we get.

I have two questions;
Would the Feather Custom be a better starting shavette than a DE one?
Do the blades benefit from stropping/ Is stropping needed to keep the carbon steel blades in good shape?

The other shavette I was looking at was a weck pattern hairshaper (Vintage full sized sextoblades can't be had), at least I have a choice of carbon and stainless blades.
