2024 April Fools Day - New laws regarding razor blades

Well, the new federal law in the US ( and expected to be copied soon in other countries) goes into effect banning the mailing of any type of razor blade with the US Postal service or carriers such as UPS, Fedex, etc.
So single edge, double edge and straight razors can now only be bought in brick and mortar stores.
I think it's a dumb law, and don't believe it is to protect people as they say. I think it's a tax grab.
There are groups that are pushing back against this, so if you hate the idea and think it's dumb, please consider providing support to the main group fighting to have this law repealed:

That cuts so close to the actual in place nonsense that it hurts despite the date…

AGE RESTRICTED PRODUCTS (UK Only)

**** will ship all Razor Blades and all products which include Razor Blades using Royal Mail's Age Verification service. The delivery person will request a form of Identification from any customer who looks under 25 years old.

It's where I got the idea!

You missed a golden opportunity. The link should’ve gone here: https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/account/upgrades

I hate april 1st. Always fall for it.

Some of you might know that I'm into road safety inspection. In that capacity me and my colleges all get sectors designated that we are responsible for.
I once got a call from a co-worker pretendending to be the manager of a circus that was being hosted near one of "my roads."
He said their elephant escaped and was causing mayham in one of our busy shopping streets. I was going mental. I totally went with it and had forgotten which day it was. Needless to say I have been the mockery of our entire division ever since- and now I am bracing myself for some B&b mockery.

I really, really hate april 1st.

It doesn't just happen on Monday, a contract driver would ALWAYS ring the female office staff, instead of the Dispatchers, he once wanted 12 post holes picked up from XXXXX, he gave the names, dimensions, address, timeframe, delivery point, everything, poor girl died of embarrassment when it was explained.
Coincidentally the circus was in town one day, **** rang the office staff, and wanted A-Frican elephant picked up from XXXXX and delivered to him in the local park where all circuses set up, poor girl, she was really drilling him how the hell would this be possible, how the hell do we load A-Frican elephant in a semi? Taut-liner or flat top? She even went far as trying to redirect him to the boss, his answer was the company had done this for him before. He kept her going :facep: poor thing, as a dispatcher you could hear half the convo down the hall, **** was a :clown:

I do the Wordscapes daily puzzle before breakfast and sent them an email because the puzzle was totally screwed up. My wife figured it out - the answers all need to be inserted into the grid backwards (I won't tell you how slow I was spelling "reflect" backwards).

Oh well, at least they'll get a kick out of my complaining email. If it's the worst thing that happens today it will be a good day.

Think you better stock up on blades, as for law who is going to enforce it NEW AGENCY - Department of Edge n Blade Security?

We do not need laws, we need commons sense, and besides Laws do not work unless people obey.

Government in my life time have passed new law to control thing, and make people safer. One of the downside is after all the politicians shake hands, high five, and slap one another on the back. No media asked simple question, that being how much funding have you provided to enforce these new laws. In most cases ZERO.

I forgot what day it is.... The first clue? The link didn't work.... But I told my wife.... See???? Those thin, clear plastic tackle boxes full of blades were not as silly as "we" thought...

Then, it dawned on me... Today is the First of April.. and I had to confess. <eg>

Might be April 1st., but who know what is coming this year in New Regulations?
