What's new

2 year hiatus.

Hello B&B it has been a while...

Back at the end of 2010 I decided to go on a shave purchase sabbatical for 2011 and it ended up almost lasting 2 years, but I broke down over the weekend and order a few things and thought I would jump back on the site and check things out.

Over the past 2 years my collection has shrank through use, trading, and giving some away from 15 soaps/creams, 11 AS, 5 brushes, 6 DE razors, 5 straights, 3 strops, and various other shaving related items. I am now down to 4 soaps/creams, 4 AS, 2 brushes, 1 DE razor, 2 straights, 1 strop, and a few other odds and ends.

The pride of my collection is still my B&B Simpson Eagle in Best shave brush. This brush made it easy to get rid of my other every day brushes and only keep around my travel brush(Kent BK4).

I am looking forward to catching up with the world of wet shaving and see what is new and trending right now, but I am affraid being back on the site my ADs will kick back in.

Hey, Barbash.

I definitely recognize your avatar and realize now that I haven't seen it recently.

Not sure how much you've read, but I know that there were several items that were very hard to find 2 - 2.5 years ago that are much easier to find now at many of the online retailers.

Martin de Candre is a soap that is getting a lot of love right now. Made in France. Shipping is a little high, but it's great stuff.

I'm sure others will be around to fill you in on other things.

Thanks everyone.

Not sure how I managed to hold off buying products because now that I have bought a few replacements I am feeling my ADs coming back. I have a tube of TOBS Avocado and some Yellow 7 O'Clock blades on the way because I ran out of both last week. I guess I will have to also find a replacement for my GB Chilled here shortly. I was sad to read about that situation because it is my favorite soap and AS. I will have to check out MdC.

Here is what I am down to except for my BK4 and travel size CF Cedarwood & Sandlewood cream that are in my travel kit.

I actually traded a few things not too long ago to get the almost full bottle of Floid Blue and a new puck of Tabac, so that helped me not buy anything sooner. The Osage feels good, but I hate the smell so you can see it has not gotten much use in 2+ years.

Welcome back ! The Internet had been a godsend to Wet shavers.

If it wasnt for the internet I am not sure I would be into wetshaving like I am.

Thanks y'all and I agree that if it wasn't for the Internet and especially B&B I would not have turned shaving into a hobby. I am sure glad I did!
