2025 Shave Purchase Sabbatical - The Battlestar Galactica Year

1st business trip logged in the books.
Though I wish I had packed an astringent or a/s, I was able to make do with balm alone.

Sure is nice to be back home to Blue Skies

That PdP #6 balm is the bomb, very good stuff.

This is just a friendly reminder that offers to buy, sell, or trade should be posted in the Buy-Sell-Trade forum in The Marketplace
I was about to say the same earlier on, but @ewk was a gent and did. His post here was just to make it known (given that BST doesn’t always show up in everyone’s timeline).

Thanks for spotting!

Guido

Thank you @bjm and @Guido75 for the clarification. I will gladly request deletion of my post in this thread if it violates any B&B terms. I just wanted to give opportunity to members on this thread who might be interested in a trade but wisely do not watch the BST. Just let me know how I should proceed (should my post here be deleted? I understand if so.)

Hi,

Yep. Free soap out of the blue is most decidedly a gift and so allowed.

That reminds me of an old Burma-Shave roadside sign set. B-S was a shaving creme long ago and not what we see these days offered for sail with the B-S logo on it. They had a sign set which read:

Free! Free!

A Trip To Mars

For

One Thousand

Empty Jars

Burma-Shave

These signs were alongside the 2-lane highways around 100 years ago now (they began in 1927 and ended in 1964). They were spaced fairly far apart and so were read one line at a time. Usually five lines with the sixth the B-S brand one. As if anyone ever needed that sixth sign. everyone knew what it was for upon seeing that first sign in the distance.

Anyone who might like to read more of these can go to the decade-long restraint thread. I have been posting them slowly over there. Well, until I run out of sign sets to post anyway. 10 years of restraint doesn't leave much to chat about, and I thought the B-S signs were a good, long-term, subject.

I haven't been shaving more than 3-4 days a week, and recently, I have been leaning on my Tatara Amakuni razor with a Feather Professional Super blade. I love this combination!

Tell us more about the Amakuni. What do you think of the magnetic top cap system? I have not seen it except in pictures, but it strikes me as a creative way to avoid the sort of delicate threading you see on the Blackland Vector.

I'm here to keep from buying soaps. I have and will continue to abide by all the purchasing restrictions, but I'm all about the soaps because they are my weakness. So my take is there is nothing wrong with buying a razor during restock if you are so inclined. Why should that rule anyone out given that we can specify a razor as an exception and consequently buy it at any time?

Re the particular case of @Jim99, could he retroactively be accept a razor as an exception?

Soap are my Achille's heel x10. I could, quite honestly, go several years or longer without another razor or brush. This is the main reason I chose a razor as my exception. I'm not that excited about looking for another razor.
