1805 - hard as soap (almost)

My 1805 cream is about half done, but I need to use a fingernail to scrape out a chunk and hope my new Rooney 3/1 can break it down with water. Is this normal? Is there a better way to deal with the second half of this fine-smelling cream?

Why not just use it like a soap? I'm not familiar with the 1805, but that's what I do with my Castle Forbes Lime which, to me, has a consistency more like a soft soap than a cream.

Just need to re-hydrate. Just add very small amounts of water to the SC at a time until the consistency is restored.

Agree with the above two posters, but in answer to your question, No, it's not normal. 1805 cream is usually a very soft cream. So it must be overly dry.

It might have dried out; I think I found a crack in the lid.

So to re-hydrate.. "just add water?" I've never had a cream that dried out before. Strange.

Thanks for help, gentlemen!
