I just wanted to take a minute to make my 1000th post really count.
Thank You very much to all of the fine members of this forum. I enjoy stopping into the B&B on a daily basis.
Like many of you, I have some unique hobbies and some unique collections/interests. I enjoy the Internet, so I often look to forums when trying to educate myself regarding a new interest. What I have found is that most forums are all the same: A few core members controlling every thread, a few bullies starting arguments at every chance, a general disdain for new members and their repeated questions, overall just a rude environment.
The tone here at Badger and Blade is quite different. I thank you all for helping to build such a wonderfully accepting, social and educational atmosphere.
I would like to extend specific thanks to many of the board's more experienced members. Specifically the Stewards and Moderators. You all do a fabulous job. You each inspire me to learn more about my interests and to continue to increase my knowledge base. Thank you for your kind acceptance and your willingness to share your knowledge.
To any new members: stick around, ask questions and make friends. A great forum member (SynGent) had a PIF recently for his Birthday. As part of that PIF, he implored participants to drop into all sections of the forum to introduce themselves. In the hopes of winning the PIF, I did this. (I lost the PIF by a landslide, but that's another story. Secret Tip: don't post nude photos of yourself in a PIF thread and expect to have a chance at winning.) Anyway, I would like to echo SynGents (James) advice. Introduce yourself around. Badger and Blade is about much more than just shaving. You will be amazed at what you find.
One final note, if you enjoy Badger and Blade even half as much as I do, then please consider becoming a CONTRIBUTOR. This board is a great place and helping to give back is a great thing. (Plus you get cool perks!)
Thank you again to all of you. I look forward to seeing you around the board.
I'll close this with a quote from Jane Wyman: "The opportunity for brotherhood presents itself every time you meet a human being."
Best,
Rob
