While I enjoy the effect of an alum block, the down side is that it dries my face so much that my Nivea Balm just vanishes on contact with my skin.
Do you rinse it off or let it remain on your face? Personally, I just leave it on for a short time while I clean my brush. That's enough time for it to work on me without dessicating my face.+1

I’ve used Razorock and Osma alum blocks.Has anyone tried natural alum blocks versus manufactured alum blocks? And if you have, have you noticed any differences between the two, beside natural alum costing more?
