The price of the matte Ti 95 baseplate isn't a ton more than a scratch and dent SS polished. The polished Ti is $25 more.
Any advice on OC vs CC in the 95 baseplate. Generally I prefer OC all things being equal (which they often aren't of course).
If I buy a Ti 95 baseplate should I get matte or polished? Does it matter (other than looks with my Timeless Bronze which is a looker)? Is there a functional difference with the shave?
Thanks and happy shaves,
Jim
I personally did not like the matte finish as I felt noticeably more drag than on the polished version. Before I ordered a matte razor I read a lot of people say the finish makes no difference, but to me it was an absolute deal breaker as soon as I used one. Ended up trading it up for polished versions and the feel is much better for me. I prefer the look of the matte, unfortunately it just didn't work out for me.
I went through most of the plate options in Ti and SS, and decided the Ti .68OC is my sweet spot in a daily shaver. The .95 OC and SB felt a hair too much for me to use daily, but either would probably be perfect if I were an every-other-day shaver.
