Yet another razor ID request...

I'm sorry to add another ID request to this forum, but I'm a little stumped. I assume what I have found is a Tech, but there are markings on there that are confusing me. What looks to be 'MARCA REGIST' and 'IND BRASILEIRA'. Does this make it a Brazilian tech? It's on a local auction site - worth getting do you think? Am I right in saying, that as it is R-3, it is 1971 third quarter?

Thanks!

According to my fingers, it is a 1972, 3rd quarter. It was definitely made in Brazil. The "Marca Regist(rada)" appears on Gillettes made in Brazil and Argentina and maybe some other S. American countries.

The handle looks aluminum. How long is it? It looks shorter than a normal handle, but longer than the stubby ones that come with most travel Techs. The head is the same as all the travel Techs from the U.S. Some say they're not as mild as the other tech heads. That's meant to be a good thing.

Whether it's worth it to buy depends on what you want to do with it and the price. Travel Gillette sets don't generally demand high prices, but I've heard a lot of guys say that they prefer this head to the regular Tech heads.

If that's a full length handle and it's less than $15-18 or so, it might be a decent deal, depending on the condition. If it's a short handle, they go for $5-10 less. But, if you actually travel, it might be worth as much to you as the regular sized ones.
