Yet another razor ID... #16 or #66

Hi.

I've just found this razor for sale online - only this one photo to go by, and it's not brilliant. I asked the seller if there was a patent number, and he replied saying it looked like it could be 43GC3C... I wonder if he means 430 030, which I believe would make it a #16? I'm really not sure so thought I'd ask the experts.

Thanks as always, oh wise gurus!

See here http://wiki.badgerandblade.com/index.php/Numbered_British_Gillette_Information for patent numbers etc.

Guessing that from the number supplied , yes probably a #16. Ask if inside the doors is flat or has a diamond...... That'll tell ya !

Send 'em these as examples:

( They're actually a #16 and a Brit Superspeed, but they're the only comparisons I've got handy  )

Fantastic, thank you. And thanks for sending the wiki link - I knew I had seen that page before, but I can never find what I want on the wiki - confuses me for some reason. I've emailed him again for more info. Cheers!

Actually, one more thing to clarify - in the wiki table it talks about the centre bar being notched or unnotched - is this the bar that the blade sits on (well, around)?

Yep that's the one. Sorry, don't have pics handy of that , but the diamond silo ( or lack of ) will be the best way of telling what model it is.

( mmm, is anyone else even on B&B tonight except us ??:blushing: )

I can never identify the silver barber pole handled Aristocrats. I've got two of them and I don't know which model they are. To be honest, it doesn't matter, they both shave great.
