what a suprise find in the junk shop yesterday.an x2 steel handle black tip.it was almost rusted shut and abused but its gonna clean up nicely.will post pics of finished shaver.no b4 pics.just didnt think about em.

working on pics.still got the thing soaking.it was extremely dirty from setting around.plating looks solid so far.i post pics as soon as iget it clean.
Nice find. I scared of these up a few weeks ago, and I was amazed at how well it shaved.
Somehow, I was expecting my own Black Tip to be as mild as a 1940s Super Speed. It actually shaves about the same as my Red Tip does. It's not a light weight aluminum razor like a Blue Tip is (although the knob may well be aluminum -- it make a different kind of sound when tapped on with a screwdriver blade).

Steel handle? My black tip has an aluminum handle, I figured they were all made like that. My TTO knob is plastic, is yours also?

this one is a #4.ther was quite a bit of rust/grime in the tto mech.im soaking it in some light machine oil to free it.it seems to be working good but it still dripping gunk.it should be in good shape in the next couple of days.slow and gentle is my thinking.
