My latest must-have razor, part of my continuing addiction to the Gillette Tech, is a 1945 Contract Tech.

I think that I MAY have a source for a complete one, however, the head assembly seems to be missing all coating/paint/plating. I'd like to know anything and everything you can tell me about the coating/plating/painting on YOUR WWII Tech (1945 contract tech or Bakelite handle) in as much detail as you care to share.
I'd also like to know what you can tell me about your best guess on what material would best replicate the original finish. Right now I'm thinking that perhaps some kind of a lacquer coating may be a good imitation.
