WTB: slant razor. slant suggestions

ive decided i want to try a slant, so what kind would you recommend? i do prefer vintage to new but obviously the merkurs seem the easiest to get hold of.
any of you guys have one you want to sell?
i am in the uk but i'm perfectly happy buying from the US for those of you willing to ship. i can get a merkur barber pole slant 39 for £35 so thats around the upper limits of what id like to pay.
i can also get a merkur slant 37c for 26.95, whats the difference between that and the 39?

In terms of performance, you are not really gaining anything by buying a vintage Slant. It all comes down to what length of handle you prefer. Good luck!

i dont desperately favour either one its just if the prices are similar then i'd rather have a razor with some history and character

Nothing wrong with that. Generally the vintage razors go for a $10-$30 more than the new ones, depending on condition and whether they have a case. Hoffritz, Coles, and Pomco are some names you see in regards to Vintage Slants, though they were just re-branded Merkurs

Handle length. The 39C Slant Barber Pole is longer and heavier than the 37C HD Slant.

yeah it looked that way in the photos, i did also find a b&b archive that talked of the differences but referenced the photo alot (as it was an archive the photo didnt show) so was a little confusing. anyway ive found a 39c for £29.95 so i think ill go for that. thanks for the info guys.
