What's new

Wolverine 1000 Mile collection?

As good as they look, they are even more comfortable. They are pretty much my weekend standard.

I didn't see any last info on the site. What type of feet do you have?

Mine are weird shaped I guess. Low, long, wide at the toes and narrow in the heel. Red Wing have never come close to fitting me.

How is the sizing? Where did you get yours? I'm in MI, and for the price of them, I might end up driving to their store.

The 1000 Mile Boots run about a half size too large. I ordered a 11.5 D - I ordinarily wear 12 D - and the fit is perfect. Instant comfort. You won't think they are expensive when you pick them up and put them on. The leather is thick and supple. I have a year of wear on mine and they've only gotten better.

I don't recall where I ordered them from. Perhaps Orvis.

You don't find the heel is too tall? That's my only worry with them. I love the wood heel, but am leaning towards the Emerson as higher heels give me back aches. I had my dress shoes re-heeled just to get them lower.

ETA: And please say which shoe you have. Thanks.

MY EXACT experience, same size, everything! And I love my boots as well! The price is a bit high, but compared to other boots of the same quality (White's, Wesco, Red Wing - I have those as well) the 1000 Mile boots are on par.

I have a pair of the original 1000 Mile in brown and they have been great over about 18 mo of use. I have put some cordovan shoe cream on them to alter the color a bit and they look great and very comfy. RW Iron Rangers would be a good similar choice which I happen to contemplating at the moment.

As always, Henry's advice is good. I have a pair of original in brown 1/2 size smaller than normal. Fit perfect and after a few months are fantastic. I recently for a good deal on a black pair but I'm not liking them as much. Personal preference I suspect.

I have a pair of Brown Garrison Montgomery's and a pair of Black Winchestor's, they also ran 1/2 size larger then my measured foot. Most comfortable boots I've ever owned, maybe the most comfortable shoes I've every owned. You can't go wrong with 1000 mile boots.

Out of the boots you own, which is your favorite. I love the 1000 mile boots, but was thinking of some White's or Red Wings for the rubber sole.

Reviving this dead thread... Just bought a pair of 1K Austen boots. JackThreads had them 1/2 off. I could not pass it up, as I've been mulling over the whites/redwing/thorogood/etc etc American made boot question for a few months now...

They should arrive tomorrow. I'm excited.

Well, I guess you get what you pay for. Pretty disappointed. The tongues are not one piece, and on both boots, where the tongue sews onto the base of the tongue, the stitches are coming out and the tongue already starting to come apart. Would not have noticed it had I not removed the laces to put some neatsfeet oil on there before wearing them.

Unbelievable.
