Today, I opened up a box of Williams Soap just to take a whiff of it because I won it in a PIF. And in my mind it smells almost exactly like Arko. A clean soap smell which has a hint of lemon to me. Maybe it's just my crazy nose. Does anyone else get that feeling?

+1 Arko is by far the better shaver. Vintage Williams though, is another story. Scent is gone but the shave is fantastic.

Even at $4 on ebay it's a bargain.
Williams has a nice clean scent, but Arko is a much better soap IMO.
I like them both but I prefer Arko among the two.
I am not a huge fan of Arko either, but it's performance is light years ahead of Modern Williams, which in my hands is totally worthless as a shaving soap.
Hate them both. The smell is terrible.
For it's performance Arko is one of the best soaps in my den.
I still haven't tried Arko but must one of these days just because there are so many opinions. I have and use Williams and it is just an "OK" soap. To me, it smells just like soap, like Ivory soap or a bath soap. I don't get any citrus.

Yes but its that good and you won't have to buy soap for quite a while.
Admittedly 12 sticks would be at least a 15 month supply from my experience. Since I form mine into a puck using a mug and a large prescription bottle those that actually use it as a stick may take even longer to use a case of Arko.
Arko is the clear winner for me.
shaveabuck has Arko for $2 as well as a bunch of other stuff you can lump together to ease shipping.
Though the Arko scent (odor) is more pronounced, you lose either way.
