Why should i love a boar brush?

Because it takes for ever to break in? ( 15-20 times to the next Millennium )
Because it always will be harsher than badger?
Because it takes the same time / amount of swirls to load from hard soaps as my floppier badger brush ?
Because it doesn't have a good lather flow?
Because i struggle to get a second pass, and i have to reload her?
Because it is by a fraction, less inexpensive to a descent badger brush?
Gentleman, please help me to love my boar brushes:confused1

Just send them to me, I love boars! Seriously what brush do you have, and how many lathers have have you made?

Boar brushes are just great. But so is badger. Yes they are less expensive and do just as good if not better. I have both and love them. Soc. 1305. Omega mixed and a best badger

A broken in boar will be soft. Your patience will be rewarded.
+1-----I have badger and boar. I like both. What brush are you using? Have you tried a Semogue 1305 or an Omega Pro. darn fine. Do you soak it before lathering? Don't give up 'cause once you hit that sweet spot---pow-zoom! Enjoy.

Is there a boar emoticon? :badger:

Some guys like the scritch. And they chew into hard soaps a lot faster than most badgers. Some guys like them just to be different. Me, I like badgers. They don't have to cost more. They feel nicer. They don't have to break in. They hold more soap and more water. It's a no brainer for me... badger badger, all the way. If you want to love your boar but can't, then maybe you should find a different kind of brush to love. I would have a hard time coming up with a convincing argument in favor of the boar, really.

Besides, which has more appeal, a nasty old boar or a cute widdle badger-wadger?
You decide.

I really tried to like them. Tried a few boars including the SOC and other Semogue boars. Badger is so much better in terms of performance for me.

I bowl lather creams with my SOC. Having said that, it is (in my limited experience) the finest boar brush available for only $39. It is not just an excellent boar, it is an excellent brush. It creates mounds of lather and is quite soft (not too long a break in for this brush and no funky smell).

I love my BK8, but you can't buy one for $39. Or $69. Or $99. Or . . .

Looks like you are a badger guy. I love the boar better than badger but mine are well broken in and it didn't take long at all. Badger is too floppy and the tips are still scritchy.

Whoa, I have some of both too. And I find the badgers to be like trying to use a makeup brush. Yeah, the badger is soft. But a broken on boar, soaked correctly, isn't like a wire brush.

And my boars load up just fine.

My thoughts exactly! I dont think id use a bore brush if it was free lol :)

I like both.

Boar rule for soap and face lathering.

Badger are, IMO, better for creams.

But, I don't see why anyone would spend more than $20 on a brush... :)

I have both and prefer badgers. With that bein said I could get on just fine if all I had were boars. I have never had a well broken in boar (I have had several) that had any scritch at all and the flow through has always been outstanding. I do think that the backbone people claim boars have is very over rated. Once they are broken in they get a bit floppy.
