Why did I ever give up?

I have been rewarded with back to back DFS!! I used my new (to me) W&B wedge and had great results. Two passes on the face, three on the neck.

I should have never given up on this, but I do not think I will be quitting in any time soon!!

I look forard to a 2nd week of str8 shaves!

I was tempted to give up too, it took me a few times to get it right, but I didn't. Now things are getting really nice indeed. When I think back I had a few problems with my DE also.

A good straight shave now will last me 2 days.

Yep, that's what it's all about - stamina and persistence to put it nice - good old fashioned stubbornness if you want it straight (sorry couldn't help myself)

I'm not there yet (shave #29 today), but things are really starting to fall into place, I've had some really nice problem-free shaves the last couple of days. Now I'm kind of just waiting on things to go wrong again, when I start to feel too confident

Just keep up the good work, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Precisely. I had trouble with a DE, but I started using better products and a shaving brush, so things overall seemed smoother and better. Most people switching to straights are only changing razors, so I think they can only see the problems and the difficulties (and forget about the troubles with DE)

Good stuff Sluggo. I am a bit disappointed in myself for not learning how to straight shave years ago. I'm enjoying the heck out of it now though.
